This technique is used to insert a fixed prosthesis across all of the teeth, the day after surgery. Zygomatic implant treatment is recommended in cases where there is a very significant shortage of bone in the upper jaw.

The zygomatic implants are inserted in the mouth, just like conventional ones, but as they are longer, they can be fixed to the cheekbone, also called the zygomatic bone. This bone is not usually affected by the bone loss process and has excellent characteristics in terms of volume and density.

With the help of modern x-ray imaging techniques and specific computer programs we can produce “virtual planning” or “3D planning” from a virtual three-dimensional model of the patient’s anatomy.

Using this so-called “guided surgery” technique, we can ensure that implants are placed in the exact position without having to open the gum or insert any sutures. The surgery becomes an extremely quick, safe procedure and discomfort and post-operative inflammation are considerably reduced.

If after conducting a study prior to inserting implants, we observe that there is not sufficient bone, we offer our patients the chance to receive one of the most advanced bone regeneration techniques.

These techniques seek to increase bone density or volume using biomaterials in those areas where it has been lost. By applying these advanced techniques, we can insert dental implants into the patient’s own bone.
